Petr was the technical director and founder of Smartplast. Plastics were intertwined throughout his life – from his studies at the Zlín faculty of University of Technology to the present day.
He gained experience in the field of plastics before 1989 in the footwear company Svit, he was a co-founder of an injection mold design and manufacturing company, he was a lecturer at the Institute of Production Engineering of the Faculty of Technology of Tomas Bata University in Zlín.
Then he threw himself into business again and ran the Smartplast company from 2008 until his sudden death.
His domain was research and development, finding new ways and solutions and passing on his knowledge to others. He was a sought-after expert in plastics, he always liked to try new things. Expertise, precision, precise vocabulary and expression, open mind and friendly behavior, these were his main characteristics. Peter’s visions, ideas and work commitment combined with friendliness and openness were the essence of Smartplast company.
We honor his memory and this legacy is a living part of the future life of Smartplast company.

Educational system SmartEDU 4.0
We have incorporated our knowledge, experience and 35 years of experience into our own system of education in the field of Plastic Injection Technology. We have been doing technological training for a long time, but 2023 was the first year when we also implemented courses open to the professional public, systematically throughout the year.
2021
Technological webinars for the professional public
The period of covid with its lockdowns. Canceled trainings, impossibility of visits and travel, cancellation of conferences and lectures. Customers couldn’t come to us, so we came to them. In the form of a series of expert webinars in the field of injection molding. There is still interest in webinars and their topics, you can find them in the Webinars section and on our YouTube channel.

New company headquarters
In 2018, a big reason to be happy! We moved our offices to a new headquarters in the Podhoří part of Zlín.

Autodesk Partner
Big deal! We’ve become a partner of Autodesk® specialized in sw Moldflow® in the territory of Central Europe. We represent sw Autodesk Moldflow as an authorized partner of Autodesk.
2008
Smartplast established
All the acquired knowledge and experience were put to good use in 2008, when Smartplast was established in the Technological Incubator of UTB in Zlín.
Over the years, the simulations of the injection molding process and the sale of Moldflow software have also been accompanied by professional training. With the increase in the volume of work the company team expanded.
1997–2003
At university
Petr Halaška also worked at the Institute of Production Engineering, Faculty of Technology, Tomáš Bata University in Zlín. At the university, he was engaged in research and teaching modeling of the injection molding process, design of plastic parts, design of injection molds and simulation analyses.
1992
More than 30 year experience
The roots of the Smartplast company go back further than 2008, when the company was established.
Since 1992, Petr Halaška has been in the field of plastic processing and Injection molding, design of plastic parts and injection molds, and quality planning of plastic parts in the automotive industry. Of course, Petr also built his professional career in the “plastic industry” on previous experiences – at the end of the 80s, he joined the technical development department of the Svit footwear company in Zlín.
