Moldflow Adviser is designed for designers of injection molded parts and injection molds. It is a simulation tool for analysis of design suitability of a plastic part and analysis of an injection mold. It allows to analyze the filling, pressure, cooling, orientation of glass fibers, deformation of the plastic part. It provides the user with immediate feedback on the manufacturability of the part and instructions on how to adjust the given design or parameters to achieve the best possible manufacturability.

The simulation includes the following results: part wall thickness analysis, filling prediction, part quality prediction, cooling prediction from the mold design perspective, and cooling prediction from the mold cooling design perspective. Mold cavity filling, temperature and pressure fields, sink marks, air traps, weld lines, cooling including mold temperature, critical cooling points on the part, temperatures and flows of cooling circuits with guaranteed turbulent flow. Deformation of the plastic part as a whole and divided into deformations caused by uneven shrinkage, deformation due to the orientation of glass fibers, deformation due to the temperature field of the cooling circuits.

You can easily import part CAD data from any design software, e.g. Catia®, Pro/ENGINEER® or SolidWorks®. Adviser is part of sw Autodesk Fusion 360 with Moldflow Adviser.

Moldflow Insight is a simulation tool that allows detailed insight into the process of filling the mold cavity with polymer melt, the effect of cooling and the results of part deformation.  All injection molding technologies can be simulated.

Sw works on the basis of the finite element method and allows solving problems with Midplane, Dual Domain and 3D TETRA finite element meshes.

Moldflow Insight allows direct import of CAD data of both parts and assemblies. It contains a mesh generator enabling automatic meshing of parts and assemblies. We can set the local density of the mesh on each surface manually or automatically, the possibility of detailed editing of the mesh of finite elements.

Sw enables the creation of geometry of inlet systems, cooling channels and mold outline or import of the aforementioned geometry from CAD.

You can import and mesh solid-state geometry created in Parasolid®, Autodesk® Inventor®, CATIA® V5, Pro/ENGINEER® and SolidWorks® CAD systems, as well as in universal IGES and STEP formats.

Moldflow Insight contains the world’s largest database of more than 11.000 types of polymers and polymer blends with unique material data, recommended injection parameters. The unique data relate mainly to the measured shrinkage (CRIMS) of the morphological data (crystallization). Thanks to these material values, Moldflow Insight is able to very accurately calculate injection molding shrinkage and material properties based on the orientation of the crystalline structure.

Furthermore, a database of steels and alloys for the production of molds, cooling media and a database of injection machines is available. Of course it is possible to create your own databases, in addition to materials also for example inlets, hot inlets, injection machines, etc.

Moldflow Insight enables project management and display of results in a wide range of settings, from color spectrograms, sections, to progress of results in individual nodes of the finite element mesh. AMS also enables the creation of a user coordinate system, tools for measuring deformation, flatness and roundness. The possibility of setting the deformation of the part to any node or multiple nodes, to the set plane and the user coordinate system, or best fitting.

The design of a plastic part can also be evaluated and optimized using data exchange with structural simulation software. CAE data exchange is possible with Autodesk® Inventor Nastran (Nastran In-CAD), ANSYS® and Abaqus® structural simulation software. Structural analysis makes it possible to clarify the effect of processing on the properties of fiber-filled injected parts under working load.

In sw Moldflow Insight, 3 simulation jobs can be run in parallel. Computing capacity can be further increased by using cloud computing using the Autodesk Flex service.
